Though Karataş Beach is more natural and less developed than some of teh more popular beaches in the region, it does offer amenities. The beach has a bar/restaurant where visitors are able to purchase food and drink. Sun loungers and umbrellas are also available, meaning you can comfortably spend the day by the water. Most evenings in the peal season, once the sun has set, Karataş Beach comes alive with live music, DJ's and themed nights.
Karataş Beach is conveniently located just a short drive from Çalış and about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from Fethiye. It's easily accessible by car or local dolmuş (minibus), with parking areas available close to the beach.
In addition to Karataş Beach, the surrounding area has plenty of attractions to explore. The bustling Çalış Beach is nearby, offering a lively promenade with restaurants and bars. Fethiye, just a short drive away, is home to the famous Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon and the historic Kayaköy ghost town. After enjoying a relaxing day at Karataş Beach, exploring these nearby destinations can add extra excitement to your trip.
Karataş Beach is a great spot to visit during the summer months (June to September) when the weather is warm and ideal for swimming and sunbathing. If you prefer a quieter and cooler experiencec, visiting in the Spring (April-May) or autumn (September-October) is also a great option, as the beach is less crowded and the temperatures are more moderate.
