Aşıklar Hill stretches from the Karagözler District in Fethiye to the Kesikkapı District along a road on the mountain. The hill gained prominence after the 1957 earthquake, as it appeared on various roads and routes in the rebuilt city of Fethiye. The tree-lined road, known as the lovers' road, was adorned with eucalyptus trees on both sides, similar to the old road from Gökova to Marmaris. However, the road gradually disappeared due to urban development and construction.
Aşıklar Hill, also known as Lovers' Hill, starts in front of the water tanks near Fethiye Castle and extends towards the port. It was named by Fethiye Mayor Cahit Ünal, who served between 1973 and 1977. The hill captivates visitors with its unique view overlooking the harbor and the ancient theater. It has become a popular spot for lovers, couples, and newlyweds, who often visit to experience the romantic atmosphere.
